Contract Field Operator

Rife has an immediate opening for a Contract Field Operator reporting to the Production Foreman. This is a contract, full time position in the Lloydminster and Maidstone Saskatchewan area.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure field operations follow health, safety and environmental policies and procedures
  • Participate in safety and environmental inspections at facilities and wells
  • Perform day-to-day production related activities for area and properties: identify optimization techniques to increase production and/or reduce downtime, coordinate day-to-day operation and upkeep of satellites, wells, roads and pipelines
  • Monitor wells and modify daily route based on downtime, production and risk factors
  • Ensure accurate and timely capture of field costs; participate in operating cost reduction initiatives
  • Assist with inventory management for area and source equipment for performing maintenance tasks in accordance with procurement procedures
  • Identify field maintenance needs with the Lead Operator, assist in the development of preventative maintenance plans, procedures and schedules, coordinate and provide input on downhole repairs, workovers, and surface equipment maintenance
  • Input key field data into production reporting system in line with operational requirements
  • Maintenance of PC drive heads, wellhead piping, chemical pumps, housekeeping and other tasks

Qualifications:

  • Technical diploma or journeyman certificate in a related discipline would be an asset
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with own vehicle with adequate auto, general liability and WCB insurance
  • Minimum of 3 years heavy oil operating experience, including conventional sweet and sour SWB operations, heavy oil treating facilities, water injection infrastructure
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic & positive attitude
  • Working knowledge of MS Office; knowledge of SCADA based control systems and experience with SABA and SCBA would be an asset
  • Required to maintain all safety and regulatory courses including H2S, WHIMIS, TDG, First Aid, Ground Disturbance, Fire Fighting, Confined Space and Fall Arrest
  • Having a good understanding of AER and MER Regulations
